A rare sunny day on the west coast of Ireland and everyone was at the beach - and why not!
Liz and I took full advantage of the beautiful weather to do a day's explore on the stunning Achill Island on the Atlantic coast of County Mayo, ending up in the late afternoon at Keem Bay, right on the tip of the island.
As you can see from the photo, this was a very popular spot, which was understandable given the lovely views, golden sands and azure ocean.
Mind you, it would be interesting to be here during an Atlantic storm - maybe next time!
As far as photography goes, the shape of the bay lent itself very nicely to a panoramic collage of multiple overlapping frames, so that's how I photographed the scene, using a small grassy knoll to give me a bit of elevation.
Just a lovely spot, and somewhere I'd love to go back on a less popular day.
